Do You Blog?
Does your website have a blog? It should. A blog is your opportunity to share content that really doesn't make sense on any of the regular pages on your website, such as offering updates, news, hunting and fishing strategies, customer stories and more. This content, which is often full of rich keywords , is good for your website users and for search engines. Search engines like Google look for fresh content on websites and a blog is an excellent way to do that. It's also a relatively informal communication tool to your clients, customers, leads, and anyone else interested in what you have to say. It's also a place where you can build up a reputation, establish your credibility in the eyes of the hunting and fishing public. Show that you know what you are doing and that you know what you are talking about and you build greater trust with your future customer base.
Extend Your Blog
Your website blog is your own content on your own platform. It is also perfectly suited for sharing beyond your site, via social media to extend the reach beyond your own traffic. This practice of extending your content utilizes the concept of build it once and use it many times. You don't need to write a specific post for each social media channel you use. If you have built up a following on social media, pull out the headline and an excerpt from your blog and post on your social along the link back to the original blog page. If your followers find it interesting, they will pass it along to their network as well, adding extension to the extension. With some social channels, such as Instagram, you will need to select the content suitable to the channel.
Don't Forget about Google
When posting your blog content, also add and update to your Google Business Profile. This is a step many website owners skip. Your Google Business Profile has value for your post in two important ways. First, it is a Google property so if a Google property has related content that links back to your website, Google will find that link, and that link has SEO value. Second, your Google Business Profile is one of the most valuable properties on the web, a powerful traffic and contact driving resource. If you are not maximizing the potential of a Google Business Profile, maybe you need to talk to us!
Time to Extend
Now that I am done writing this post, I am headed to our company Facebook page and Google Business Profile to practice what we are preaching and extend our content.
